The Odyssey wrap up.
For this blog post, I will be wrapping up this section about the Odyssey and the adventures that it holds inside. This book was so interesting and throughout the book, it would just keep getting more and more interesting. I believe the reason for this is all the drama that is going on. You have to intently read this book to stay on top of everything that is going on. What this accomplices is the Odyssey is a very active book? I like active books because of how they keep me more engaged. If you made A timeline of the important events the occurred in this book, the timeline would look like it would have holes missing throughout the "important events". What we have to know is there are many important sections that happen, that help make this book so denies, like all the drama. Those are just some the points of that show how interesting the Odyssey was.

Why was Odysseus so harsh on Eurycleia after she recognized him?
This week I well discuss Why Odysseus was so harsh on Eurycleia after she recognized him and why not before too. P.S. this occurred in book 19. The first thing I would like to point out is human nature. When people are under assumptions and their assumptions are wrong they feel lied to. People don't like being lied to and this may get them angry. Another reason that Odysseus maybe harsh is how to see saw him. She was under the impression it was someone else, so she was being curious and nice. After she found out who it was she could say how she felt about him. In other words, you can't judge a book by its cover.

The Odyssey Part 2
For this week's blog post I will be stating what role weaving played in the Odyssey. There are main instances were weaving is mentioned in the book. The impacted this did to the story, in my opinion, is give roles to people. Usually, the wife or a maiden would be weaving in their free time or as a chore. An another role this made was for the males. They were usually off on quest or adventures. Weaving was not the main cause of these stereotypes it was just an adding factor to it.

The Odyssey
In the beginning of the Odyssey book 1, it said to "Speak Memory -" and ends in "And tell the tale once more in our time." This quote sets up the book really well. With this quote, it will show the topics and the themes the Odyssey is trying to share with us. To "Speak with Memory" is to be historically accurate. The last part of the quote "And tell the tale once more in our time." will give us a better understanding. This is a big part. None of us were there, we are interpreting this in many different ways compared to how the people of that time would have interpreted it.

Education for Fredrick Douglass
Education is a tricky thing. The present day most of the world believes that everyone should be allowed to learn and get an education. When slavery was legal it did not matter to the white man that the blacks got an education but in the 21 century, it matters that everyone gets an education. The main reason why education is so important, from my perspective is to show equality. Most countries have some sort of public school program. This is there to give everyone a chance, other words having an equal start. What happened to Fredrick and other slaves was trouble and in some places now we still have these problems but the difference is there illegal. We are trying to help eliminate those how are breaking the law. There are main reasons why this is bad but the reason that stands out to me is not everyone is getting a chance to live a good life.

How is education related to human freedom?
The prompt for this weeks’ blog post is how is education related to human freedom? There are many reasons why education is related to human freedom, but the main one I will be talking about is evolution. In the beginning, a person's job was to survive. Now since we have a different way of life, we don’t have to be in survival mode 24/7. We have time to do other things like getting a better education. We as a species have evolved and we have evolved very similarly in the body and in the mind. We are all very similar, we can all learn the only thing stopping us now is how hard you try. So when another person tell a specific race that they are now allowed to learn or even try to learn. That person is now withholding them and or stopping them from making their own decisions on how to live their life, conflicting with their freedom.

Why is the ability to read and write a statement about freedom?
Frederick Douglass was a slave and his freedom was suppressed by not being able to read and write. Frederick was not able to read because there was not enough time. Another reason is if the black folk were able to read it would make them closer to the intelligence of the white person. The reason why this is so big is because being able to read and write is a basic skill for most people to have. The whites just liked to take away basic and common skills. What this did for them was to prove their superiority even though we all are equal. Back then, when slavery was a thing making a statement was the biggest thing you can do. A statement can put a drive in the hearts and souls of a group of people or distinguish fear in the eyes of the receiver.

Why Were Slave Families Separated
When slavery was legal what the slave masters would do is separate the families. They did this when the baby was about one-year-old. What this did to the African American people was it created and made the white man more powerful. What would also happen is it made the blacks humiliated because they never knew their presents or even their own age. To gain even more, power the blacks were told that their master was their father. The blacks knew this wasn't true but the idea that they told them that is terrible. That is the main reason why the white man did this.

Bartolomeo Cavarozzi (MFA)
Virgin and the Child with Angels. This peace of art is truly breath taking and is on display at the Museum of Fine Arts. I have had the privilege to visit this peace. This peace was made during the Renaissance era. Not surprising that this panting was a depiction of Christ. In this era more artist would create art just to make art with no religious propose but there was still art that has presented Christ, like the Virgin and the Child with Angels. Renaissance art is some of the most famous and beautiful art in all of history.

Compare and Contrast
Compare and contrast. Shall I Compare Thee to a Summer’s Day and When I do Count the Clock that Tells the Time by William Shakespeare. These two poems by the same person are so different. Not even the theme is close. But these two poems were made in the same time period. Other words the wording of the poems a quite similar. These poems have many opposites like one poem will state and discusses the day while the other speaks to the night. They both speak of the seasons or imply the seasons but they still manage to make the meaning different in these poems.

The Main Theme of the poem “Monologue for an Onion” by Suji Kwock Kim
In the poem “Monologue for an Onion” by Suji Kwock Kim. The theme for this poem was how someone is indirectly hurting someone else. The author shows this by “I don’t mean to hurt you.” This is telling us the subject of the poem. He doesn't mean to hurt them, it was unintentional. This is shown many time to make the theme heard, It's just in different forms. Throughout the poem the onion is referred to a person. This will all so support the theme by, you need two people at least for interaction but with interaction you can all so get conflict whether it was indirect or not.

How do metaphors create meaning in the poem?
In the poem “The Young Man’s Song” by W.B. Yeats, he uses metaphors in this poem. He uses these metaphors to create or add extra meaning in the poem. In this particular poem he uses a penny as the metaphor throughout the poem. It seems to me that this penny meant that the young men's have a wish or should have a wish. I believe that this wish was to find love because of how he used the metaphors in his poem. As you can see adding metaphors in a poem will add meaning in a number of ways for example it will give the readers different ways to interpret the information that is give in the poem. Having a meaning that is straight forward isn’t as fun because that's what it is there is only one meaning, so why have only one meaning when we can interpret many.

The Shuar Tribe
The Shuar is a tribe in Peru. This tribe is very interesting because of all of their traditions. The main one I will be talking about is the shrunken heads and why they did this. The heads were from fallen warriors of the other tribes they fought in battle. They did not use these heads to count how many people they have killed like scalping, in fact they were only allowed to have two. The reason they were only allowed two heads was because they believed if you had two or more heads their powers would not work. The Shuar believe that after you kill a warrior the spirit is still inside the body mainly the head. They stitch the mouth and eyes closed so the spirit doesn’t escape from the head. The process of making the the heads is very spiritual and bloody. They wait for the battle to be over then they start. They make a cut around your neck then one from your top of your skull to the back of your neck, then they strip the skin from the skull. Then they will start shrinking the skin. They put the skin in a pot of boiling water and take it out to let it cool and then they put it back in the hot water and repeat the process till it's the size they need it to be. After it's the right size they sew up all the openings except for the neck. They use that hole to put rocks, mud, and sand to give it a shape of a skull. What the Shuar do with the skull of the fallen warrior is they throw it into the river for the water god. The finished produce of shrunken head is a head that looks like it has been shrunk but with really long hair because in this process of shrinking the skin the hair stays the same and eyes, mouth, and neck are sealed to not let the spirit get out. This tradition has ended because the tribes have become less of a savage society. Now there are lots of tourist that go thru the area and of course these tourist what some shrunken heads. What the Shuar do is they go and get monkeys and do the same process to then and they call it a human head to sell it to the public. They still practice all of the original traditions anywhere from religion to language and of course dress and dance, but the Shuar don’t have a written language. We don’t know most of their past. There are about 45,000 Shuar in our world today. They might be small in numbers but in these numbers they are strong in their culture.

Poetry V.S. Prose
What's the difference between poetry and prose. First, poetry will be written in a way that has lines, which prose do not. Prose are written without lines, in other words, when you come upon a prose it will announce itself in a paragraph format. Prose will also be more straightforward and be written with less imagery and symbolism. However you should also know that prose and poetry have similarities. In this case both poetry and prose have a rhythm like a beat of a song. I don't want to say that poetry always rhyme because they don't always rhyme, same goes for prose. The writer just writes in such a way that makes the writing a pleasure to read. These are the differences between poetry and prose.
