Why is the ability to read and write a statement about freedom?

Frederick Douglass was a slave and his freedom was suppressed by not being able to read and write. Frederick was not able to read because there was not enough time. Another reason is if the black folk were able to read it would make them closer to the intelligence of the white person. The reason why this is so big is because being able to read and write is a basic skill for most people to have. The whites just liked to take away basic and common skills. What this did for them was to prove their superiority even though we all are equal. Back then, when slavery was a thing making a statement was the biggest thing you can do. A statement can put a drive in the hearts and souls of a group of people or distinguish fear in the eyes of the receiver.

Why Were Slave Families Separated

When slavery was legal what the slave masters would do is separate the families. They did this when the baby was about one-year-old. What this did to the African American people was it created and made the white man more powerful. What would also happen is it made the blacks humiliated because they never knew their presents or even their own age. To gain even more, power the blacks were told that their master was their father. The blacks knew this wasn't true but the idea that they told them that is terrible. That is the main reason why the white man did this.

Bartolomeo Cavarozzi (MFA)

Virgin and the Child with Angels. This peace of art is truly breath taking and is on display at the Museum of Fine Arts. I have had the privilege to visit this peace. This peace was made during the Renaissance era. Not surprising that this panting was a depiction of Christ. In this era more artist would create art just to make art with no religious propose but there was still art that has presented Christ, like the Virgin and the Child with Angels. Renaissance art is some of the most famous and beautiful art in all of history.

Compare and Contrast

Compare and contrast. Shall I Compare Thee to a Summer’s Day and When I do Count the Clock that Tells the Time by William Shakespeare. These two poems by the same person are so different. Not even the theme is close. But these two poems were made in the same time period. Other words the wording of the poems a quite similar. These poems have many opposites like one poem will state and discusses the day while the other speaks to the night. They both speak of the seasons or imply the seasons but they still manage to make the meaning different in these poems.
